The aim of this project is to bridge the gap between traditions and the current generation. A database of Philippine music instrument sounds was created. Variation in the instruments’ pitch, dynamics, and playing style was considered. The sound database is available through this online portal. The online portal also contains metadata and related multimedia for each recorded instrument. Thus, the project not only aims to preserve music traditions, but also to promote creative reuse, educate, and promote opportunities for research and collaboration. |
