Special attention is given to studies of languages in the fields of ecolinguistics (including the Haugenian Tradition and the Hallidayan Tradition), systemic functional linguistics, critical/positive/multimodal/ecological discourse analysis, sociolinguistics, cognitive linguistics, corpus linguistics, pragmatics, linguistic typology, linguistic anthropology and philosophy of language. |

The Journal of World-Historical Information (JWHI, http://jwhi.pitt.edu) is a peer-reviewed, semi-annual, electronic journal dedicated to the interdisciplinary project of creating and maintaining a comprehensive world-historical data resource. The journal operates under the guidance of the Collaborative for Historical Information and Analysis (CHIA, http://chia.pitt.edu), the collaborative network which is creating the data resource. The data resource addresses several centuries in time with data aggregated up to the global level. The journal focuses on the particular problems of historical data—their heterogeneity, the high cost of collecting, digitizing, and documenting such data and, on the other hand, the high value of historical data for temporal analysis of the past and projection into the future. The Journal publishes five principal types of articles: editorial essays, articles on published or immediately forthcoming datasets, methodological essays, analytical articles articles, and reviews of published datasets. |

As a profession, journalism is facing a crisis of renewal. To support it, the academic discipline of journalism studies is needed more than ever. The journal “Journalism Research” aims to raise the discipline’s profile. It is published as a freely-accessible online publication. Like traditional academic journals, it has fixed publication dates and uses quotable, numbered issues. “Journalism Research” is intentionally designed as an editor journal, not tied to academic institutions. Published at the same time, an English version with the same content is part of the concept. The editors are Stine Eckert (Detroit), Gabriele Hooffacker (Leipzig/Munich), Horst Pöttker (Dortmund/Hamburg), Gunter Reus (Hanover), Tanjev Schultz (Mainz), Martina Thiele (Tübingen), and Mandy Tröger (Berlin/Tübingen).
